1. Who We Are

Mevwe is a lifestyle identity platform connecting physical objects to digital meaning via QR tags. Our pieces are primarily perfumes, alongside other curated lifestyle items. We operate from Nigeria and serve a global audience. Contact us at support@mevwe.com.

2. Information We Collect

What you give us

• Intention notes: The personal text you attach to a piece. No account, email, or password is collected to do this.
• Stockist applications: Store name, contact name, email, phone, city, and description.

Collected automatically

• Scan events: Time and piece ID only. No IP or location.
• Ownership history: Claim events and note updates, tied to the piece, not to a person.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To attach and display a piece's ownership record and intention note.
• To process and respond to stockist applications.

4. QR Scanning & Ownership

Each Mevwe piece carries a unique QR code. When scanned, it opens this platform and loads data about that piece. If unclaimed, no personal data is shown. If claimed, the piece's note (if one has been written) is shown to anyone who scans that piece's code. Gifted notes are permanently locked once accepted by the recipient.

5. Sharing & Third Parties

We share data with infrastructure providers under data processing agreements: Supabase (database, SOC 2 Type II certified) and Google Fonts (font loading). We do not share personal data with advertisers or data brokers.

6. Data Retention

Ownership and note records are retained for as long as the related piece record is active. Stockist application data retained 12 months then deleted.

7. Your Rights

• Access the data tied to a piece you hold.
• Correct inaccurate data.
• Delete a piece's note or ownership record — contact support@mevwe.com.
• Export a copy of your data.

We respond within 14 business days.

8. Security

Database connections encrypted via TLS. Regular security reviews. If a breach affects your data, we will notify affected stockist applicants within 72 hours via the email they provided.

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using Mevwe, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. The Platform

Mevwe is a lifestyle identity platform. We issue physical objects with unique QR codes enabling the holder to bond the item, attach a personal meaning note, and seal it. We may modify or discontinue any feature with reasonable notice.

3. Pairing Your Words

No account, email, or password is required. To pair your words with a piece, scan its code and tap "Make It Mine." The code on your piece is what ties the piece's record to you. Because no login is required, anyone with access to that code can view or edit the piece's note. Treat the code on your piece the way you'd treat any private link. Gifted notes, once accepted, are permanently locked and cannot be edited by anyone.

4. Piece Ownership & QR Codes

One piece, one owner

Each Mevwe piece may be connected by one account at a time. You agree not to reproduce, alter, remove, or tamper with the QR code on any Mevwe piece.

5. Intention Notes & User Content

You are solely responsible for note content. You agree not to submit notes that are defamatory, harassing, infringe third-party rights, contain others' personal information, promote hatred or illegal activity, or are sexually explicit. We may remove violating content without notice.

6. Stockist Program

Approval is at our sole discretion. Approved stockists agree to sell pieces only through certified locations, not counterfeit pieces, maintain QR integrity, and represent the brand accurately. Stockists are independent retailers, not agents of Mevwe.

7. Intellectual Property

All intellectual property in the Mevwe platform is owned by or licensed to Mevwe. Nothing grants you rights beyond accessing the platform as a registered user.

8. Prohibited Conduct

• Using the platform for unlawful purposes.
• Attempting unauthorised access to accounts or systems.
• Using bots or scrapers to extract data.
• Interfering with platform performance.
• Impersonating any person or entity.
• Creating false or fraudulent ownership records.

9. Limitation of Liability

The platform is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by Nigerian law, Mevwe shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability shall not exceed ₦50,000 or the amount paid to Mevwe in the prior 12 months, whichever is greater.

10. Termination

You may close your account by contacting support@mevwe.com. We may suspend accounts for violations. Ownership records may be anonymised but not deleted to preserve piece authenticity.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Lagos State.

12. Changes
